How are domains added to CloudFlare?

When a new domain is added to CloudFlare account, it is thoroughly scanned and the DNS records are retrieved and populated. Usually most of the records get copied but sometimes things get missed and need to be added manually. The most important records are:

A records

@ and *

CNAME

www

MX records

It is extremely important to point the domain within 24 hours after it has been added to CloudFlare otherwise the zone might not become active and will be deleted after 1 month.
